Second Bar + Kitchen at Archer Hotel Austin
The restaurant, a concept created by Chef David Bull and La Corsha Hospitality Group, will open Aug. 30 inside the Archer Hotel Austin at 3121 Palm Way, Austin. The newest location will offer the same menu as its downtown counterpart but will serve breakfast every day and also offer service at the pool and on the terrace, which Chef David Bull said will have a separate bar and be a great spot for cocktails and snacks overlooking Domain Northside.
“The opportunity to broaden the SBK concept was intriguing,” Bull said of the partnership with Archer Hotel. “La Corsha has been in the hotel business for about 20 years. It was coming back to our roots a bit.”
Initially SBK will serve breakfast and lunch. Dinner service will begin Sept. 2 with its terrace and poolside service beginning Sept. 7 and Sept. 10, respectively.
Bull said he recommends trying the Black and Bleu Quiche, which is a take on one of its pizzas, off the brunch menu. The dish features pork belly, blue cheese and black truffles. He also recommends the jalapeno Caesar salad and the seared salmon and pork belly fried rice.
“There are two or three ways to experience [the restaurant],” he said. “It was very intentional to create a seamless food and beverage experience.”
SBK will provide food and drinks for Archer’s pool patio, which includes cabanas, a seasonal bar, a fireplace and al fresco dining. More information is available at www.secondbarkitchen.com.
Archer Hotel Austin will also open Aug. 30. The eight-story hotel will have 96 guest rooms and 75 suites, including some with fireplaces or balconies. Amenities will include a fitness studio, pool patio, fireplace and cabanas.
The hotel also will have 6,600 square feet of meeting space and a total of 16,500 square feet of event space. Call 512-836-5700 or visit www.archerhotel.com/austin.

Hat Creek Burger Co.
The Austin-based burger joint will open its fifth location in December at the northwest corner of Esperanza Crossing and Rock Rose Avenue. The new restaurant will feature outdoor dining and a children’s play area.
Official Domain Northside, Nordstrom opening
