AUSTIN — Whole Foods at The Domain is finally here.

Austin’s fifth location opened Wednesday morning. Shopping there over the next few days will benefit some well-deserving charities with Whole Foods sponsoring Community Giving Days.

One percent of profits will go towards the following charities on the following days:

• January 15 – Jewish Community Center of Austin
• January 16 – Emancipet
• January 17- Austin Creative Reuse
• January 18 – Girlstart
• January 19 – Back on my Feet

The new Whole Foods store is 63,000 square feet. There is space outside for music and bars which serve up fresh juice and wine – even oysters. The store also has a place to play games and do yoga and crafts.

Officials say the Whole Foods is environmentally friendly with skylights to save energy and rainwater barrels for watering plants on site.
