A North Texas real estate veteran will soon join Endeavor Real Estate Group LLC as the Austin-based firm looks to grow its presence in Dallas.

Endeavor earlier this month named Andrew Levy as a managing principal based in Dallas. Endeavor is one of the largest development firms headquartered in Austin and has around $5.4 billion in real estate assets. Notable developments include The Domain, a mixed-use project regarded as Austin’s second downtown, and retail power centers like Southpark Meadows. It had around 500,000 square feet under development or delivered in the Austin area in 2023, which ranked No. 10 on Austin Business Journal’s list of commercial real estate developers — and Endeavor has regularly featured near the top of the ranking.

Endeavor has owned retail and office projects in the Dallas area in the past although it doesn’t currently have anything on the ground in its portfolio. The company has proposed a multifamily tower with ground-floor retail in Uptown at McKinney Avenue and Boll Street — a project executives hope to get moving again soon.

With his role set to become effective in January, Levy will focus on office acquisitions in the country’s Sunbelt, including Texas.

“While the post-COVID return-to-work story continues to play out, Endeavor and I both believe there are exemplary opportunities to find office assets that will thrive,” he said in a statement. “We intend to aggressively seek out assets that are positioned for success in the new office landscape.”

Jamil Alam, managing principal of Endeavor, said hiring someone of Levy’s caliber is critical for Endeavor as it prepares to make more office deals.

“Andrew’s relationships with capital sources and his knowledge of Sunbelt office assets are a rare combination that we expect will deliver immediate results for Endeavor, our investors, and partners,” Alam said in a statement.

Levy, currently a senior managing director and co-head of Dallas capital markets for JLL, has more than 30 years of experience in the investment advisory sector, securing more than $25 million in commercial real estate deals. He’s worked on major deals across Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Atlanta, Nashville and New Orleans. He earned his MBA from Southern Methodist University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin.

Levy is Endeavor’s second hire in the Dallas area. About nine months ago, Endeavor brought on Zach Johnston as principal to lead multifamily and mixed-use projects in North Texas. Johnston was previously senior vice president of development at San Diego-based Fairfield Residential, where he worked for 22 years.

The hires showcase how Endeavor aims to grow in the Dallas area, Alam said. The firm has historically made most of its deals out of Austin but that could change in the coming years. It plans to open a physical office in Dallas in the first or second quarter of 2025.
